Youth Urban Multimedia Association (YUMA) produces a television show entitled “The Gap Closer” and will be begin airing in February 2012 on a television network in Springfield, Massachusetts. It will also be aired nationally on this website www.yumaforkids.com, Youtube.com, and Facebook.com.
YUMA the participants/students are the actual producers the television show. Our first guests on the show were Dominic Sarno, Mayor for the City of Springfield, Massachusetts, various medical doctors from Baystate Health Medical Center in Springfield, along with many others. The purpose of the show is to begin to help bridge the communication gap between the youth and adults in our society. The first show to air will be on the topic of youth stress. In our first show, the youth reached out to the public officials in the city of Springfield in order to learn how the city involves itself in the many issues that affect the youth.
The youth will participate throughout the calendar year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter). The television show will air weekly.
